YHOA GALLOPEN
2008
Results after Rishworth have been added so that finalises overall results
for 2008. The final total is based on
the best 6 results out of the 9 possible ones. Congratulations to all the winners. Trophies etc. will be sorted out in due
course.
There are no changes at the
top of the JM class so Jake is a new winner ousting his brother who has won for
the last 2 years.
Tim Tett
kept his place at the top of the ML class but with a good last run Steve Whitehead moved into second place just beating Colin Smith by
1 point. Colin also improved his points total. At the
top of the MS class, Steve Corrigan’s points total stayed the same as he did
not run in the MS class for the last event.
Even though the next 3 runners did improve their scores it was not
enough to oust Steve.
Karen Clark and Amanda Crawshaw stayed as first and second in the WL class. Pam Brown stayed at the top of the WS class but
Victoria Todd moved up to second place pushing Margaret Parker in to third
spot.
I have mentioned at a YHOA committee meeting that the way that the Gallopen results are calculated does perhaps need a
rethink. Calculations are done now in
the same way that they were done when I took over the job. From next year with the new event structure
at least partially coming in, new arrangements may be necessary. The competition as it is run at the moment
would include the region’s Level 2 and Level 1 events. Level 2 will be colour coded perhaps with age
classes mapped onto it and Level 1 will be age class based. The Gallopen does
need a rethink. If anyone has any bright
ideas please let me know and they can be considered.
